The VCU Police Department hosted its third annual Chili Challenge on Friday, Nov. 30, at police headquarters. Competing chefs submitted pre-cooked and homemade chili dishes, which were submitted to a panel of judges and sold to the public. The event raised more than $500 for the Virginia Public Safety Foundation to build a memorial for fallen public safety officers. Police Accreditation and Compliance manager Shana Mell won first prize in the competition.
