‘Freakonomics’ author to speak at VCU’s 24th Real Estate Trends Conference

Award-winning “Freakonomics” co-author Stephen Dubner will headline the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business’ 24th annual Real Estate Trends Conference this month. 

The conference, organized by the Kornblau Real Estate Program in the School of Business, will be held Oct. 23 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Registration and networking begins at noon with the first of three sessions beginning at 1 p.m. 

Joining Dubner — a journalist and radio and TV personality — is Kenneth Riggs, president and CEO of Real Estate Research Corp., and Richard A. Smith, chairman, CEO and president of Realogy Holdings Corp. 

Riggs will present an economic overview in session one. In session two, Smith will lead a housing trends discussion. Dubner rounds out the day with his presentation, “Think Like a Freak,” during session three. A reception will follow the closing remarks at 5 p.m. 

The VCU Real Estate Trends Conference is one of the leading forums in the region for the exchange of ideas and information about real estate.
