Virginia Commonwealth University Police report that 59-year-old James Elder of Freeman, Va., has been missing since he was dropped off at the Lyons Dental Building on the VCU Medical Center Campus for a dental appointment on Tuesday.

Police say Elder's sister drove him to the building Tuesday morning, and when she returned from parking the car discovered he had not shown up for his appointment.

Elder is described as an African American male, 5'6" to 5'8," weighing approximately 280 to 285 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt and jeans.
