A new exhibition at James Branch Cabell Library features the journalistic work of the Commonwealth Times' illustrators and artists.

The show, titled "The Art of Journalism," will be on display on the library's first floor through Jan. 31.

Cyrus Nuval, executive editor of the student-run Commonwealth Times, organized the exhibition. In presenting the newspaper's artists' work, Nuval said he wanted to show how the definition of journalists includes illustrators and cartoonists.

"I am doing this exhibit to show the VCU community that journalism doesn't always come in the form of writing or photography," said Nuval, who is double majoring in criminal justice and psychology. "Illustrations are also a form of journalism and commentary and they can be just as thought-provoking and as articulate as written articles and columns."
