VCU Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU present ‘Asthma Management’

Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU are offering a series of free educational seminars featuring experts who provide important health information and answer questions on a variety of current topics in health care.

The series’ upcoming seminar, “Asthma Management,” will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, Education and Library Complex, 1800 Lakeside Ave. The seminar is free and open to the public, but registration is recommended. Richmond has been named the asthma capital of the U.S. (the most difficult city to live in with asthma), by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.  “Asthma Management” will be presented by Michael Schechter, M.D., chief of pulmonary medicine at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, who will discuss asthma management in children and how to keep the whole family healthy during cold and flu season.
