The Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center continues its free educational seminar series this winter featuring experts who provide important health information and answer questions on a variety of current topics in health care.

The series’ next lecture, “Preventing Chronic Disease with Healthy Habits,” will take place on March 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, Education and Library Complex, 1800 Lakeside Ave. It is free and open to the public, but registration is required. For more information, or to register, call 804-828-0123 or email seminars@mcvh-vcu.edu. Online registration is available at https://redcap.vcu.edu/rc/surveys/?s=g3uYRen2EG.

“Preventing Chronic Disease with Healthy Habits” will be presented by Deborah A. Koehn, M.D., Department of Internal Medicine. The seminar will discuss the dramatic ways risk of chronic disease can be reduced by changing the way you live. For example, healthful eating habits and a physically active lifestyle will not only reduce the risk for some chronic diseases — certain cancers, heart disease, stroke and diabetes — but will also make you feel better
