VCU Police seek persons of interest in robbery

The Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department is releasing photos of persons of interest following a robbery.

On Sept. 25, at approximately 5:34 a.m., a strong-armed robbery was reported by phone to the VCU Police Department as having occurred at 4:50 a.m., in the 1100 block of W. Broad St. VCU Police detectives are investigating the incident.     

The victim reported that he was walking eastbound in the 1100 block of W. Broad St., when he was approached by the suspects. One of the suspects attempted to engage the victim in conversation. When the victim refused, he was hit from behind by a second suspect and knocked to the ground. The suspects took the victim’s wallet. They were last seen fleeing the scene west on Broad Street and south on Harrison Street. The victim didn’t report any injuries.

The first suspect is described as a black male with dreadlocks, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored pants. The second suspect is described as a black male with a black and white hooded sweatshirt, jeans and light-colored sneakers. Both suspects fled on foot.

VCU Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the persons of interest in the investigation. Police are releasing the attached photos of the men from VCU’s security camera system.
