VCU Police seeking person of interest following sexual battery incidents on MCV Campus

The Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department is releasing photos of a person of interest following two sexual battery incidents. On Monday, Sept. 26, at 3:50 p.m., VCU Police received two reports of sexual battery incidents on the MCV Campus.

The first incident occurred at 3:45 p.m. in a first floor restroom of the McGlothlin Medical Education Center, located at 1201 E. Marshall St. A victim reported that a man pushed her against the wall and attempted to unbutton her pants. The victim was able to push the man away and he left the restroom.

In a second incident, at approximately 3:45 p.m., a woman was standing outside the Kontos Medical Sciences Building, located at 1217 E. Marshall St. A man hit her buttocks and fled north on Marshall Street.

Due to the timing of the incidents, and the close proximity of the buildings, VCU Police detectives are working to determine if the incidents are related. The VCU Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a person of interest in the investigation. Police are releasing photos of one person of interest from VCU’s security camera system.

Police have increased patrols on the MCV Campus.
