The Virginia Commonwealth University Office of Continuing and Professional Education has launched a program to provide area high school students, regardless of where they plan to attend college, with an opportunity to strengthen their test-taking skills.

SAT® Summer Institutes are offered both on and off campus, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., with sessions taking place on July 13 in the VCU Professional Learning Classroom at the Career and Technical Center at Hull Street, 13900 Hull Street, Midlothian; and on July 27 on the VCU Monroe Park Campus in Richmond. The cost for the week-long course is $449.00. An incremental payment plan is available.

“The condensed, one-week SAT® Summer Institutes are a convenient way for students to develop essential test-taking tools during the summer when they have more time to practice,” said Michael Huffman, director of the Office of Continuing and Professional Education. “Many students are fearful of the exam because they don’t understand its unique structure. The SAT® Summer Institute takes the mystery out of the exam and provides the students with an in-depth review of the exam content, strategies for improving their scores, and a comprehensive study plan.”
