Virginia Commonwealth University hosts Youth Safety Summit

The Public Safety Institute at Virginia Commonwealth University’s L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs is holding a youth safety summit to address issues associated with drinking and driving.

“Students Speak Out on Safety: Dealing with Underage Drinking and Driving” will be held On Wednesday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the VCU Student Commons Theater, 907 Floyd Ave.  The forum is free and open to the public.

The forum will bring students, parents, law enforcement officials and the community together to identify innovative solutions to a growing issue. 

Special guests include Attorney General Bob McDonnell; State Superintendent of Public Instruction Billy Cannaday, Ed.D.; former State Superintendent of Public Instruction William C. Bosher, Ed.D.; and chiefs of police from the Richmond metropolitan area.
