Representatives from the Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department and the City of Richmond on Wednesday will discuss the anticipated traffic impacts to downtown Richmond during local high school graduations at VCU’s Stuart C. Siegel Center. Twenty-three high schools from Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico and New Kent counties, along with St. Gertrude and ECPI, will host ceremonies at the Siegel Center between June 6 and June 17.

In anticipation of these events, and continued construction on the GRTC Pulse: Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), VCU Police collaborated with VCU Parking and Transportation, the City of Richmond, the Richmond Police Department and the Virginia State Police to establish a comprehensive, regional traffic plan.

VCU Police and the City of Richmond invite reporters to a media briefing on Wednesday, May 31, at 9:30 a.m. in the Siegel Center lobby, 1200 W. Broad St., near the UU Parking Lot entrance. Media parking is available in the UU Lot, directly next to the Siegel Center. Contact Corey Byers by email at byersc@vcu.edu with questions.

VCU Public Affairs will publish a news release following the media briefing.
