NASCAR Nationwide driver to visit VCU’s Community Health Education Center

NASCAR Nationwide Driver Joey Gase will visit VCU’s Community Health Education Center on Wednesday to speak about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation.

Gase’s visit will take place between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24. He will speak about organ, eye and tissue donation at 2:30 p.m., sharing his story about being a donor family member. The Community Health Education Center is located on the ground floor of VCU Medical Center’s Gateway Building at 1200 E. Marshall St.

Gase’s mother became an organ and tissue donor after she passed away in 2011 due to a sudden brain aneurysm. Gase and his family work to spread the word about the need for organ, eye and tissue donation. Gase honors his mother and many other donors at every race.
