As part of its ongoing efforts to engage the communities it serves, the VCU Police Department annually participates in the National Night Out celebration. During this year’s celebration on Aug. 6, officers and McGruff the Crime Dog visited children at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond and neighbors in Jackson Ward, Carver, Randolph, and the Fan. They met with hundreds of Richmonders and discussed safety with children and parents. Photo by Michael Kelly, VCU Police Department public relations specialist.
