VCU Police to hold checkpoint near Monroe Park

The Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department will conduct an administrative checkpoint this weekend. Officers will be checking drivers’ licenses and registrations.

The checkpoint will be operational on the 700 block of West Main Street, near Monroe Park, from 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, to 3 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31. Law enforcement officers from the Richmond Police Department, Virginia State Police and Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control will assist.

The checkpoint is funded by a grant through the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.
