NASCAR Winston Cup driver Jerry Nadeau returns to VCU Medical Center to thank staff

WHAT:        Jerry Nadeau will meet with hospital staff who cared for him following his crash last May at Richmond International Raceway.  Nadeau will visit doctors, nurses, therapists and other staff in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit and in the Rehabilitation Center.

                   Nadeau, 32, was admitted May 2 after sustaining a head injury, a fractured left scapula (shoulder blade) and lung and rib injuries after his race car struck the wall in Turn 2 during a practice session.

WHO:          Members of VCU Medical Center's trauma team, Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit, brain injury rehabilitation team and other staff. 

WHERE:      VCU Medical Center, 1300 E. Marshall St. 

WHEN:        9:30 a.m., Sept. 5, 2003  

Logistical Note: Parking will be available on the north side of Marshall St. near 13th St. A representative from the medical center will meet you at the corner of Marshall St. and 13th St. to escort you to the photo op.
