Gov. Ralph Northam appointed two new members to the Virginia Commonwealth University Board of Visitors and reappointed two others to four-year terms.

Gopi Jadhav, M.D., an internal medicine specialist, and Stuart Siegel, former CEO and chair of the board of S&K Famous Brands Inc., will join the board on July 1. In addition, existing board members Colette McEachin, a deputy commonwealth’s attorney for the City of Richmond, and Phoebe Hall, co-founder, CEO and senior partner of Hall & Hall PLC, received new four-year terms on the board.

“I look forward to the many ways Gopi Jadhav and Stuart Siegel will be champions in advancing VCU’s mission as one of America's premier urban public research universities,” said VCU President Michael Rao, Ph.D. “They are passionate, generous, and visionary leaders who are joining a distinguished board and who will help elevate our university and the people and communities we serve. I’m also grateful that Colette McEachin and Phoebe Hall, whose wisdom has helped guide VCU these last four years, will continue to lead us for another four years.”

Jadhav has been practicing medicine for 45 years. He has served on the VCU Health System Authority Board. In addition, he serves on the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority and the Advisory Board of First Capital Bank.

Siegel served as the CEO of S&K Famous Brands from 1973 to 2002 and as the company’s board chair until 2009. Siegel previously served on the VCU Board of Visitors, spending part of his tenure as rector.

McEachin has managed many complex cases as a prosecutor. She has served on honors panels for VCU’s criminal justice program and been a guest lecturer at the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs.

Hall began her legal career in 1969. Her career has included practice in all facets of family law, but in recent years she has narrowed her focus primarily to elder law, wills and estates. Hall currently serves as rector of the Board of Visitors.

The terms for board members Bill Ginther and Alex McMurtrie will expire at the end of June.
