Two Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing online graduate programs are among the best in the country in their categories, according to new rankings from U.S. News & World Report.

The magazine’s annual rankings of “Best Online Programs,” released Jan. 25, placed VCU at No. 9 for Nursing Administration Programs and No. 20 for Best Online Master’s in Nursing.

The 2022 rankings put VCU in rare company as the only Virginia college or university ranked in Nursing Administration Programs for the School of Nursing’s Online Nursing Leadership and Organizational Science program. VCU also was the only Virginia institution ranked in the top 50 on the list of this year’s Best Online Master's in Nursing programs.

The School of Nursing Master’s in Nursing jumped up 12 spots in the rankings from last year.

“We are so pleased to be continually ranked among the best in the nation for the quality of our online master’s program,” said Jean Giddens, Ph.D., professor and dean of the School of Nursing. “This important distinction is a true reflection of the stellar work of our faculty in preparing students who go on to excel in and transform nursing.”
