VCU to celebrate May commencement on Saturday

Virginia Commonwealth University will celebrate May commencement on Saturday.

VCU will hold commencement at 10 a.m. at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, 403 N. Third St. The university also will host an assortment of in-person graduation ceremonies at the department, school and college levels. VCU has more than 4,700 total graduates this spring representing 38 countries, including more than 3,000 undergraduates.

VCU alum Mo Alie-Cox, an alum who once starred on the Rams’ basketball team and now plays in the NFL, will deliver the commencement keynote address. 

The universitywide commencement broadcast will stream at vcu.edu. For more details about commencement, visit commencement.vcu.edu. More information about unit-level events can be found at commencement.vcu.edu/departmental-ceremony/. Doors will open for guests for the universitywide ceremony at 8:30 a.m. No tickets are required.

Media credentials are required for access to the floor of the convention center and for reserved media seating near the stage. Media members may obtain credentials from a staff member at the Fifth and Marshall entrance to the Greater Richmond Convention Center Exhibit Hall Pavilion on the day of commencement. Proof of media affiliation is required to receive credentials.

Limited media parking will be available in the Greater Richmond Convention Center driveway on the right side of North Fifth Street between Marshall and Broad streets. Media vehicles either should be marked or should display a media placard.
