VCU President Michael Rao to deliver State of the University on Feb. 8

Rao will speak about VCU’s commitment to connect with a changing society as the model of a public research university.

Virginia Commonwealth University President Michael Rao, Ph.D., will deliver his annual State of the University Address on Feb. 8 at the James Branch Cabell Library.

The event will be held at 11 a.m. in the Lecture Hall, room 303, of Cabell Library. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. RSVP to attend. For special accommodations, email UNIVevents@vcu.edu. A live broadcast will stream at vcu.edu.

During his speech, Rao will place a spotlight on what it means to be a public research university and health system, bridging gaps between problems and solutions, diseases and cures, and the educational world and the professional world. In addition, Rao will detail the importance of developing more career-readiness experiences for students and VCU’s critical role as “a talent activator,” committed to enabling students and every person in Virginia to achieve their full potential.
