VCU School of Education online programs ranked among the best in the U.S.
VCU receives two top-50 online rankings from U.S. News & World Report, including the School of Education earning a spot in the top 15 in the Master’s in Educational Administration and Supervision Program category.

Select programs offered by the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Education are ranked among the top 50 in the country in the newest U.S. News & World Report rankings of online graduate programs.
Announced today, the publication’s annual list of “Best Online Programs” ranked VCU in a tie for No. 15 in the online Master’s in Educational Administration and Supervision Program category, while the university was placed in a tie for No. 45 in the overall Master’s in Education Program category.
“Never has the need been greater for high-quality educators than it is today. VCU is helping meet that need through innovative online programs that are among the best in the nation as these recent rankings affirm,” said Fotis Sotiropoulos, Ph.D., provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. “It’s a pleasure to congratulate the outstanding faculty and staff who are driving these programs as well as the programs' graduates who personify its excellence and impact every day in the classrooms in which they are teaching.”
Kathleen Rudasill, Ph.D., interim dean of the VCU School of Education, said the school was proud to be recognized for its online master’s programs, noting that “it is critical that we continue to provide high quality online programs in education.”
“With the demand for educators and education leaders at an historic high, we believe that offering online and flexible learning opportunities for those who wish to pursue or grow careers in education is key to meeting the pressing needs of Virginia and beyond,” Rudasill said. “Many of our current and future students are full-time employees in school divisions around the state, and they are able to pursue an advanced degree from the School of Education through these online pathways.”
