Gerry Bertier #42 Foundation Donates $40,000 to VCU Spinal Cord Injury Program

The Gerry Bertier #42 Foundation, named in honor of a star high school athlete portrayed in “Remember the Titans” who suffered a spinal cord injury and later became an advocate for people with disabilities, donates annual proceeds to further the cause of spinal cord injury (SCI) rehabilitation and research at VCU to support clinical, educational and research activities.

“The organization’s contributions over the years have helped to enhance hope, function and quality of life for individuals with SCI, specifically to support state-of-the-art technology, clinical care and national dissemination of SCI scholarly activities by VCU,” said McKinley.
