Jill E. Blondin, Ph.D., has been named executive director for the VCU Global Education Office. Blondin has served as the interim executive director for the past year.

Blondin joined Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013 as associate professor and inaugural director of VCU Globe, the global education living-learning program. Prior to joining VCU, she served on the faculty of The University of Texas at Tyler as assistant and associate professor of art history, director of the Global Awareness Through Education program, and director and senior international officer for the Center for Global Education.

Since taking on the role of interim executive director, Blondin has been preparing for the launch of VCU’s Global Student Success Program, and refined and improved the international agreement process, said Gail Hackett, Ph.D., provost and senior vice president for academic affairs.

“Dr. Blondin has done an exceptional job over the past year and I am confident that she is the right leader at the right time to guide GEO in its important role in the university’s strategic plan, Quest 2025,” Hackett said.
