Kaine to Speak at VCU’s Commencement

Kaine was sworn in as Virginia's 70th Governor in 2006. He previously served four terms on the Richmond City Council, starting in 1994, including two terms as the city's mayor, and served a term as Virginia's Lieutenant Governor, starting in 2001.
Kaine grew up in Kansas City. He attended the University of Missouri and Harvard Law School and practiced law in Richmond for 17 years. His career of public service began when he took a year off from law school to volunteer with missionaries in Honduras, serving as the principal of a small Catholic school there. Kaine has been elected to serve as chairman of the Southern Governors Association this summer.
Commencement exercises take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the Richmond Coliseum.Subscribe to VCU News
