With Good Reason," a public radio program carried on 12 different stations throughout Virginia, will this month feature a Virginia Commonwealth University faculty member and a recent graduate of VCU's Department of Music.

  • Sept. 13-19: Everett Worthington, Ph.D., chair of VCU's Department of Psychology, will discuss violence and forgiveness with Marc Gopin of George Mason University. The pair will discuss whether it is possible for an individual to forgive someone who has committed evil acts against them, as well as whether Palestinians and Israelis will ever forgive each other for a decades-long history of aggression and violence. Worthington is a licensed clinical psychologist, and his research studies include forgiveness and reconciliation, marital enrichment and religious values in the marriage, family and therapy.
  • Sept. 20-26: Tammie Willis, who recently received her Master of Music in Music Composition from VCU, despite being profoundly deaf, will be featured during the program's Masters of Jazz demonstration. A former student of VCU music instructor, Bill Eldridge, Willis will appear along with music professors Bill Brown of Christopher Newport University and Jeff Decker of the University of Virginia.
