Danyelle Crutchfield, a junior at Virginia Commonwealth University, has received a $2,000 national scholarship from the Actuarial Foundation, a nonprofit organization devoted to broadening the actuarial profession’s contribution to society.
Crutchfield, who graduated from Huguenot High School in Richmond, is majoring in financial technology with a concentration in actuarial science in the VCU School of Business. She was one of 24 students nationwide to receive an Actuarial Diversity Scholarship from the Actuarial Foundation. The scholarships are reserved for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees that could lead to careers in the actuarial profession.
"Danyelle is a very talented and dedicated student," said Etti Baranoff, associate professor of insurance at VCU. "She has demonstrated that she has a bright future in the actuarial field."
