Virginia Commonwealth University President Michael Rao on Friday celebrated VCU’s guaranteed admissions agreements with the Virginia Community College System and an articulation agreement with Randolph-Macon College.

The community colleges agreement acknowledges enhancements to the existing VCCS guaranteed admissions programs, which have proven very successful for transfer students entering VCU via that route.

“We have had grand success with our transfer students from the Virginia Community College System,” Rao said. “They are coming here with higher GPAs and are more mature, hardworking and focused than ever before and have a clear idea of what they want to achieve.”

The new agreement with Randolph-Macon College is for honors graduates of R-MC and is a partnership with the VCU School of Nursing. It is among a few such articulation agreements signed between four-year institutions.

At a signing ceremony at the Scott House on Friday, VCU also recognized partnerships with John Tyler Community College, Richard Bland College, J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, Danville Community College, Patrick Henry College, the New College Institute, Northern Virginia Community College, Germanna Community College and Piedmont Virginia Community College.
