The VCU Police Department, members of the VCU Neighborhood Team and other students, faculty and staff participated in “National Night Out” on Tuesday. The annual activity allows residents and law enforcement agencies to band together against crime and drugs.

Block parties, cookouts and other activities connected to National Night Out took place in the Carver, Fan, Jackson Ward, Oregon Hill and Randolph neighborhoods.

This was the 29th National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, and it took place in more than 15,000 communities in the United States, Canada, U.S. territories and U.S. military bases.
