Starting Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m. through Sunday, April 14, at 7 p.m., street closures will be in effect on Virginia Commonwealth University’s MCV Campus due to construction. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time for travel as heavy traffic is possible.

  • North 11th Street, between East Clay and East Leigh streets, will be closed.
  • The eastbound lanes of East Leigh Street, between 10th and 11th streets, will be closed. The left turn lane on westbound Leigh Street will be open to eastbound traffic. Orange detour signs marking temporary routes for vehicular traffic will be posted in this area.
  • East Clay Street, between 10th and 11th streets, will be closed nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. This closure has been in effect.

VCU Police will be working to mitigate traffic congestion. Officers will assist with traffic control at the intersections of East Leigh Street and North 10th and 11th streets on Saturday, April 13, and Sunday, April 14, between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

This project is expected to end Sunday, April 14. However, all schedules listed above are subject to change.
