With more than 3,000 faculty teaching at Virginia Commonwealth University in disciplines representing everything from fashion marketing to endodontics, there are a lot of passionate people sharing their knowledge and with it, something of themselves, on a daily basis. The latest episodes of our “Think on This” video series give you a window into the minds of three faculty members who have one big thing in common: They’re all about empowering others.
Garret Westlake, Ph.D.
Westlake, executive director of the da Vinci Center for Innovation, discusses the importance of bringing people together from multiple disciplines to solve the complex problems the world faces today.
Christine Isaacs, M.D.
Isaacs, division chief of general OB/GYN, talks about the partnership between clinicians and patients. “At the end of the day, when that patient leaves, they’re hopefully leaving with the tools that help them rise up to their best healthy self,” Isaacs said.
madison moore, Ph.D.
moore, an assistant professor of Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies in the College of Humanities and Sciences, discusses art and being a DJ, and how both inform and influence his work in the classroom.
