Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU will celebrate expanded pediatric outpatient care in Fredericksburg with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house Thursday for the new Fredericksburg Multispecialty Center. The new facility is home to 35 doctors and nurse practitioners across 18 specialties — from cardiology and neurology to orthopaedics and urology.
The 6,400-square-foot facility includes 14 exam rooms, a phlebotomy lab, x-ray suite and room for growth. The center is located just steps away from its former location and CHoR’s Fredericksburg Therapy Center.
“The new center is four times the size of our old space in Fredericksburg, allowing us to meet the growing need for pediatric specialty services,” said Jeniece Roane, interim vice president for children’s services at CHoR. “With care close to home, children in the Fredericksburg and northern Virginia communities can spend less time away from school and traveling in the car, and more time just being kids.”
