Virginia Commonwealth University will commemorate VCU Alumni Month in April with a variety of events to celebrate the university and showcase VCU pride.

“Alumni Month provides opportunities for our thousands of alumni to reconnect and engage with each other and with their alma mater,” said Jim Williams, VCU Alumni president. “This year's celebration is especially notable as VCU Alumni has adopted an all-inclusive membership model and now welcomes all graduates, regardless of dues or gifts.”

Highlights of this year’s Alumni Month include a professional clothing drive in partnership with VCU Career Services, VCU Alumni Night at The Diamond, the VCU Alumni and Community Bike Ride and VCU Recreational Sports Family Fun Fest and the annual Monroe Scholars Book and Author Luncheon. A number of graduating classes will return for Reunion Weekend to reminisce and reconnect with friends at the RPI Reunion, the MCV Campus Reunion and the African-American Alumni Council Reunion.

Alumni who can’t make it back to campus can still embrace the spirit of the monthlong celebration by connecting with and organizing events through one of VCU Alumni’s chapters. Several chapters already have projects planned as part of a Day of Service initiative.

“We look forward to recognizing and celebrating our alumni, both near and far,” Williams said. “Alumni Month celebrates our diverse alumni community and keeps our graduates connected.”
