David Baldacci featured speaker at inaugural VCU Book & Author Luncheon

Bestselling author David Baldacci will be the featured speaker at the inaugural VCU Alumni Association Book & Author Luncheon, benefiting Opportunity VCU scholarships.
Baldacci, a Richmond native and VCU alumnus, will speak about his recently published book, “The Sixth Man,” and his experiences in the field of writing at the event on May 2 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Empire Room of the Jefferson Hotel, 101 W. Main St. An autograph reception will immediately follow the luncheon with books available for purchase. Tickets are $75 per person. Baldacci has published 21 novels and two young adult novels, and each book has been a bestseller. His books have been translated into more than 45 languages and sold in more than 80 countries. More than 110 million copies of his books are in print around the world. “The Sixth Man,” Baldacci’s latest novel, was published this month. It marks the return of Baldacci’s characters Sean King and Michelle Maxwell.
The luncheon will raise money for Opportunity VCU, an effort led by the VCU Alumni Association and the MCV Alumni Association of VCU, to raise $50 million for student scholarships and fellowships across all academic units of VCU. Barnes & Noble @ VCU is a co-sponsor of the luncheon.
