One-night Exhibit Features Honors Students
Students in the Honors Advanced Painting Class in Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts will exhibit their semester’s work on Dec. 16.
The show will be held between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. in the courtyard of the Cornish Brewery Apartments at 1201 W. Clay St. The exhibit, which will include a musical performance from Liza Kate, is free and open to the public.
The exhibit, SCHLITZOPHRENIA, will include work ranging from comic and pop style art to Renaissance painting techniques. The show is a celebration of each artist’s individual drive to pursue his or her own direction. Although the artists have shared the same studio space, drastically different types of painting have emerged.
Artists in the exhibit include Jane Winfield, Brad Walker, Ben Hirsch, Trudy Benson, Mazwell Perry, Karen Wolfe, Matthew Ritchie, Lewis Taylor, Ella Watson and Elizabeth Talbot.
