Frank R. Baskind, Ph.D., VCU School of Social Work
Baskind, professor and former dean of the VCU School of Social Work, is an adviser for a military social work education initiative led by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Participants in the initiative include 35 experts from various social work backgrounds in higher education, professional associations and the military. The result will be an educator’s guide to the skills and knowledge needed to practice social work with military personnel, veterans and their families. Baskind has served as president of the board of directors for CSWE and as chair of CSWE’s Commission on Accreditation. He ended his 16-year tenure as dean of the VCU School of Social Work in 2008.
