Victor Yanchick, Ph.D., dean, VCU School of Pharmacy
Yanchick, professor and dean of the VCU School of Pharmacy, has been appointed to the Archie O. McCalley Dean’s Chair. Yanchick’s appointment was approved by the VCU Board of Visitors and was effective Jan. 1. The position is named after Archie O. McCalley, a 1927 graduate of the school. McCalley died in 1999 at age 93. In 2005, his widow, Beulah Binns McCalley, also died at age 93. The endowed chair is the result of a $1.2 million gift from the McCalley estate. Yanchick has served as the dean of the School of Pharmacy since 1996. He also has become a leader on the national level as president of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
