Former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley will visit VCU on Wednesday

Former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley will discuss American and global perspectives on leadership in metropolitan cities during a presentation and discussion with Virginia Commonwealth University students tomorrow.

Daley’s presentation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Ave. Media will have a brief opportunity to interview Daley at the conclusion of the event.

Daley is the chairman of the Global Cities Initiative, a five-year, $10 million project, which seeks to help metropolitan leaders in the United States and around the world strengthen their regional economies by becoming competitive in the global marketplace. The Global Cities Initiative is a joint project of the Brookings Institution, a private nonprofit organization devoted to independent research and innovative policy solutions, and JPMorgan Chase, a global financial services firm.
