Fourteen VCU nurses recognized for excellence

VCU Health System honored 14 nurses from across the organization for awards and recognitions they’ve received from external professional nursing organizations.
On Thursday, these nurses were recognized at a ceremony and reception. This is the second year VCU Health System has hosted the event.

Jane Laverne, Operating Room Governor’s Award for Nurse with Outstanding Contribution to EMS
Lauren Goodloe, Ph.D., Medical and Geriatric Nursing Virginia Nurses Foundation’s Nancy Vance Award
Kevin Brigle, Ph.D., Massey Cancer Center 2014 Oncology Nurses Society Pearl Moore’s “Making a Difference” Emerging Leader Award
Darlene Salvani, Bone Marrow Transplant Virginia Nurses Foundation’s Leadership Excellence Award for Frontline Staff Nurse
Denise Lynch, Medicine Administration VCU School of Nursing’s Outstanding Nurse Practice Award, MCV Campus
Kim Nelson, DNP, Cardiothoracic Surgery National Magnet Nurse of the Year for VCU Health System
Maureen Flattery, Heart/Lung Transplant 2014 Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners’ Founders Award
