Nasdaq director, Federal Reserve economist and others to discuss global investing during VCU international forum

Financial experts from Nasdaq International, the Federal Reserve, Bank of New York, the World Bank and other financial organizations will discuss international stock, bond, venture capital and money markets during the Sixth Annual International Business Forum at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Business on March 23.
During the lecture on "Global Investing: The Future of Economic Growth and Prosperity," a panel of experts will share their ideas on where and why global investing will be prevalent this century. The forum will be held from 3-5:30 p.m. in VCU’s Student Commons, Commonwealth Ballrooms A and B, 907 Floyd Ave. A reception immediately following will be hosted in VCU’s School of Business, room 1132, 1015 Floyd Ave.
"Never before has there been such a wide range of investment opportunities around the world. Democracy has arrived in global finance. Anyone can invest. Similarly, anyone can offer investments. The future lies with those who have the information. With that in mind, the panel will help navigate through the myriad of choices available," said Van R. Wood, Ph.D., VCU’s Philip Morris chair in International Business and professor of marketing.

Thompson, Siegel & Walmsley, Richmond, "International Equity Investing from a
Mutual Fund Manager’s Perspective."
l Asani Sarkar, Ph.D., economist, Capital Markets
Group, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, "Financial Crises in Foreign Markets."
l Christopher H. Spille, director, Nasdaq
International, Washington, D.C., "The Changing Face of International Equity Markets
and Global Investing."
l David A. Dubofsky, Ph.D., chair, Department of
Finance, Insurance and Real Estate, VCU School of Business.
The VCU School of Business forum is made possible by a grant from Universal Corp.
