Virginia Commonwealth University President Michael Rao and Provost Beverly Warren will present the annual Presidential Awards for Community Multicultural Enrichment (PACME) on Tuesday, April 9, at 3 p.m. in the Richmond Salons of the University Student Commons. A reception will follow.

The awards recognize members of the university and health system communities who have contributed to diversity and cross-cultural relations. A faculty member, administrator, staff member and student who excel as role models in multicultural issues are awarded.

The winners of the awards this year are: Jeff Wing, director of the national scholarship office (administrator award); Elizabeth Canfield, assistant professor in the Department of Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies (faculty award); Phillip Cunningham (student award); and Amy Heineman, registered nurse at VCU Health System (staff award). The Riese-Melton Award, which is the capstone award, will be presented to one of the recipients.

Students and faculty are encouraged to attend.
