Physician oversight subject of brown bag panel discussion

The Department of Health Administration and the VCU Medical Group Management Association recently invited an influential panel to campus to discuss physician disciplinary actions, oversight and current legislative issues in Virginia.

HB 1441 lowers the disciplinary standard for persons licensed by the Board of Medicine and Board of Physical Therapy from gross negligence to simple negligence, and excludes hospitals and health care institutions from reporting certain health professional misconduct if it is reported to a peer review panel.
