Plans set for VCU commencement on May 18

Virginia Commonwealth University’s 2002 Commencement will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the Richmond Coliseum, 601 E. Leigh St., Richmond, VA.

Media representatives are urged to arrive at 9 a.m. when the Coliseum’s plaza-level doors will be opened for all guests. There is no reserved seating. Once the capacity of the Coliseum is reached, as determined by the City Fire Marshall code, no one will be allowed admission.

Media representatives must show identification with the name of a valid media organization to gain access to the floor of the Coliseum and the Coliseum Press Box.

Among notable graduates is Michael Curry, National Basketball Association player for the Detroit Pistons and president of the NBA Players Association. Curry is expected to attend the ceremony to receive his master’s degree in sports leadership from VCU’s SportsCenter.
