PrideFest 2013

Rodney the Ram and several others from the Virginia Commonwealth University community celebrated equality and diversity at VA PrideFest 2013 on Sept. 28.

The festival – run by VA Pride, a representative body for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community – works to instill pride, promote unity and embrace diversity in Virginia.VCU was a silver sponsor of this year’s event, with support from Equality VCU, the VCU Division for Inclusive Excellence, VCU Athletics, VCU Medical Center and the VCU Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

VCU Medical Center representatives also raised awareness of the new LGBT clinic, a behavioral health medication management clinic exclusive to the LGBT community.

The annual event in Kanawha Plaza included live performances, children’s entertainment, shopping from local vendors, food and drinks.
