The R.R. Ivatury Inaugural Trauma Symposium will be held this week at the Downtown Richmond Marriott. This is the inauguration of the event in its new name in honor of Rao R. Ivatury, a longtime trauma surgeon at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. The topics of the symposium will cover penetrating injury: “the good, the bad and the ugly.”

The R.R. Ivatury Inaugural Trauma Symposium will be held from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 17 at the Downtown Richmond Marriott.

Prominent national leaders will attend to celebrate the inauguration of the R. R. Ivatury Inaugural Trauma Symposium. Speakers will discuss a wide range of topics on penetrating injury, including firearm violence, penetrating injury and the civil war and fluid resuscitation in penetrating trauma.
