Strategic Advisory Committee Sets Meetings About Free-Standing Children’s Hospital

The Strategic Advisory Committee to Consider a Freestanding Children’s Hospital has announced a series of public meetings to gather input from groups and individuals regarding a VCU Health System management proposal for a freestanding children’s hospital in Richmond.
Monday, July 22, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., McGlothlin Medical Education Center Learning Theatre, Room 200, 1201 E. Marshall St., Richmond. The committee will meet with Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU faculty, including residents, fellows and other professional providers.
Wednesday, August 14, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Richmond Marriott, 500 East Broad St., Richmond. The committee will hold an open meeting for all interested community pediatricians from across the Richmond region.
Thursday, August 22, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., The Westin Richmond, 6631 West Broad St., Richmond. The committee will hold a community public forum for all interested individuals.
At each meeting, VCUHS management plans for a freestanding children’s hospital will be presented followed by comments and questions from the invited groups.
The committee is scheduling additional meetings with stakeholders across the Richmond region.
The strategic advisory committee was established by the VCU Health System Board of Directors to assist the board in carrying out its strategic planning responsibilities regarding consideration and approval of a management proposal for a freestanding children’s hospital in Richmond. The committee is expected to submit recommendations to the board for its consideration early this fall.
