VCU announces baccalaureate service, diploma ceremonies

RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University’s 2001 Commencement activities will include an interfaith baccalaureate service for the entire university community and diploma ceremonies held by many individual schools and departments.

The baccalaureate service will be held at 5:30 p.m. May 18 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Park Avenue and Laurel Street. The speaker will be Timothy Patitsas, a member of the Greek Orthodox community and lecturer of religious studies at Marymount University. The service is sponsored by the VCU Interfaith Campus Ministers Association.

Several VCU schools and departments will host diploma-awarding ceremonies for their graduates. Most ceremonies will be held May 19, unless otherwise noted.
