WHAT: The Anxiety Clinic, located in Virginia Commonwealth University's Department of Psychology, will offer information and free anxiety screenings at three Richmond locations in conjunction with National Anxiety Disorders Screening Day.
Anxiety disorders are among the most common mental health problems that children and adults experience. Fortunately, they are treatable conditions. After the screening, VCU mental health professionals will offer participants a referral for further examination and treatment, if necessary.
The VCU Anxiety Clinic, located on VCU's Academic Campus, offers low-cost therapy and counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults struggling with anxiety problems. The clinic is located within the Center for Psychological Services and Development, located at 806 W. Franklin St. Medication services for adults will also be available from the anxiety clinic in the outpatient psychiatry clinic on the VCU Medical Campus.
National Anxiety Disorders Screening Day is an annual event sponsored by Freedom From Fear and locally by the VCU Anxiety Clinic.
