The Virginia Commonwealth
University Children's Medical Center will dedicate the newly renovated Kiwanis Family Care Center on the pediatrics inpatient floor.
Due to limited space in family care
center, the dedication will be held at 1 p.m. in the Robins Family Forum
Auditorium at the Virginia Historical Society, 428 N. Blvd.
The Kiwanis Family Care Center is an area available to family
members of critically ill children, who may need an extra respite, lounge or
work space without having to leave the pediatric floor. The area includes
televisions, a laundry facility, kitchen area, telephones, computers with Internet
access and a small library.
Members of Kiwanis Clubs in divisions 4, 18 and 24 have raised more than $100,000 to renovate the family care center.
Media also can arrange to visit the family care center at their convenience by calling Malorie Janis at 804.827-0889.
