VCU Commencement Set for Saturday

Virginia Commonwealth University will award 4,900 degrees during its 2013 spring commencement exercises on Saturday.
Teresa H. Carlson, vice president, Worldwide Public Sector, Amazon Web Services, and a member of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Board of Visitors, is this year’s commencement speaker. The commencement ceremony starts at 10 a.m. at the Richmond Coliseum, 601 E. Leigh St. Doors will open at 9 a.m.
Media credentials are required for access to the floor of the coliseum and reserved media seating in section 16L.The credentials can be obtained from University Public Affairs during business hours at 827 W. Franklin St., room 104, or from a staff member at the Seventh Street entrance of the coliseum on the day of commencement. Proof of media affiliation is required to receive credentials.
Parking will be available along the 600 block of East Leigh Street for media who reserve spaces in advance. Media vehicles either should be marked or should display a media placard.
Students will receive professional, graduate and undergraduate degrees. The ceremony will be live-streamed at www.vcu.edu and can be viewed on most smartphones and tablets.
