VCU Engineering Dean’s Society event presents a media preview of Capstone Design Expo

The VCU School of Engineering will host a preview of student-designed inventions and prototypes at a Dean’s Society reception for donors and the media. The event also will feature an announcement about the future of VCU’s engineering program by Barbara D. Boyan, Ph.D., dean of the School of Engineering and Alice T. and William H. Goodwin Chair.

The event will be held Thursday, April 26, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Siegel Center, 1200 W. Broad St. The announcement will take place during the reception.

The reception comes on the eve of the school’s annual Capstone Design Expo, a major public event showcasing more than 80 innovative research and design projects by engineering and business students. Corporations, nonprofits and health sciences organizations sponsor these projects over the course of a year.

Student design teams, project sponsors and university leaders will be available for media interviews at the reception.
