The VCU College of Engineering will present the year’s best student-designed inventions and prototypes at its first virtual Capstone Design Expo awards ceremony from 1-3 p.m. on May 8.

The event will showcase the most innovative research and design projects on which teams of senior engineering students have worked over the past year. Corporations, nonprofits and health sciences organizations sponsored these projects, which solve real-world challenges.

More than 90 posters, abstracts and presentations for the projects competing for this year’s top honors are currently open for public viewing. The winners in each category are selected by industry experts and engineering faculty.

The ceremony will be held electronically from 1-3 p.m. May 8 through Zoom. The Dean’s Choice Award will be presented following the completion of team presentations, around 2:30 p.m.
